Field Trip Cancelled

Dear Parents,

Due to unforeseen circumstances the field trip for next Tuesday,  May 29th has been cancelled.  Bounce-A-Rama had a sprinkler malfunction and flooded. They are closed for repairs and will not reopen until June 7th. We are trying to contact them to find out more information. We were not notified about the issue. Mr. Cheadle went to talk to them about food items and saw the sign. We will be working hard to see if we can get the trip moved to June 7th. All money will be refunded to you by this Friday, May 25th.

Mrs. Walker and Mr. Cheadle

UPDATE: Bounce-A-Rama can not reschedule our field trip for this school year.

SBAC Testing

We have finally made it to Smarter Balance testing this week. The students have been preparing for this all year. We will be taking English Language Arts and Math these next three week. Make sure that your child comes to school on time every day as we will be testing right away. Snacks are offered in the library before school from 8-8:15 on the day of testing. It is important that students get a good nights sleep before the test. They have been working really hard all year and I am sure they will do a great job.

https://practice.smarterbalanced.org/student/

From now until April 30th we will be having daily practice tests. If you would like they can work on these tests at home as well. There is no login other than the GUEST that is already on the page. The students will have to select their grade level on the next page. Then they will be asked about modifications they do not have any so keep hitting select. Once they get to their testing page they have the choices of ELA Practice Test, ELA Performance Task Practice Test, Math Practice Test, and Math Performance Task. Those are the only four tests that the students will be taking. The practice test does not save or grade their progress. It is used to get them familiar with the format and process of the Smarter Balance Test.

In Science we will be working on a class Science Fair Project. We will be going step-by-step to get the students ready for the Science Fair in May. It is important that each students turns in their project. There will be a grading system and prizes for the top 3 in 3-5 grade.
